Attorney General speaks at City Club
Idaho’s attorney general, Lawrence Wasden, was in Idaho Falls Friday. He spoke at the City Club luncheon.
He spoke about state law in relation to the federal government, which gave many members a chance to ask about the management of land in Idaho.
Many say they want to take it back from the feds, but Wasden says Idaho doesn’t own the land to begin with.
“We (Idaho) surrendered that in our constitution. It’s not taking back ‘our’ lands, it is working cooperatively with Congress to see that those lands are managed appropriately and that we have the opportunity to develop some of those lands,” said Wasden.
Wasden also addressed law nullification and the history behind it.
