Earthquake rattles region

Many viewers contacted our station Friday evening about an earthquake they said felt like an explosion.

The U.S. Geological Survey said an earthquake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 3.6, hit around 6:05 p.m. nine miles southeast of Victor.

It was about two miles deep, making for a relatively shallow quake.

We don’t have yet have word if the earthquake caused any damage.
