Ellen catches up with Rigby ‘boyfriend’

The “only boyfriend” of Ellen DeGeneres was on her show Tuesday. Tayt Andersen is an 8-year-old from Rigby who is waiting for a heart transplant.

Tayt, who was born without the left side of his heart, has spent three-fourths of his life in a hospital bed. He watches her show every day.

In January, Ellen surprised Tayt and his mother, Chrissy Andersen, with a surprise Skype chat after Local News 8 ran a story on how much Tayt loves Ellen. Ellen took Tayt to Disneyland to dance. She also invited him and Chrissy on her show, where they got an even bigger surprise: a $10,000 check from Shutterfly for medical expenses.

On Tuesday’s show, viewers got an update on Tayt’s progress.

“We have a very big transplant meeting up next month, so our fingers are crossed for the best,” said Chrissy.
