Grand Teton Superintendent to retire
Grand Teton National Park Superintendent Mary Gibson Scott will retire from the National Park Service November 8 after a 33-year career.
Scott became superintendent of Grand Teton and the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway in May 2004. She also served as the only female on the NPS’ Senior Executive Service.
During her tenure at Grand Teton National Park, Scott oversaw improvement projects totaling almost $150 million. The projects included construction of the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center, 14 miles of multi-use pathways, and construction of 32 residential units at Moose and Beaver Creek. The park also addressed a total of $90.6 million in deferred maintenance projects.
