Stabbing suspect killed in crash near Ririe

The suspect in an Idaho Falls stabbing died in a crash near Ririe early Monday.

Idaho State Police said around 3 a.m., Tay W. Misseldine, 23, of Idaho Falls was eastbound on U.S. Highway 26 at the intersection with 115th East when he drifted off the right shoulder and overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to rotate counter-clockwise and cross the highway. Misseldine left the north side of U.S 26, struck a highway sign, went through a fence, went down the embankment of a gravel pit and overturned. Misseldine was not wearing his seatbelt and was thrown about in the inside of his vehicle.

Misseldine died at the crash.

There were no witnesses to the rollover, but was reported by a passerby.

ISP said Misseldine was a suspect in a stabbing in Idaho Falls the previous evening and had led Idaho Falls police and Bonneville County deputies in a short pursuit. The pursuit was discontinued because police identified the driver as Misseldine.
