Rexburg police training range burglarized

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at the Rexburg Police Department’s shooting range.

The range is on Highway 33, west of Rexburg near the Jefferson County line. The theft was reported around 11:20 p.m. Monday.

According to Sheriff’s Office Captain Bruce Bowler, two buildings were broken into, including a training room and storage shed. Stolen items included an air compressor, propane heaters, and nearly 2,000 rounds of ammunition used for training.

Investigation was continuing Tuesday.
