Local students tour new school

Students and staff at Ethel Boyes Elementary School in Idaho Falls got their first look at their brand new school Friday.

The school has a media center, computer lab, music room and multipurpose room with a stage. It is about a third larger than the old school. Next week students will be out of school while teachers and staff move into the new building. One fourth- grader can’t wait to move in.

“There is a bigger gym and there is a bigger cafeteria. There is also an elevator and it is bigger and taller,” said student Madison Neidert.

Classes will start on Dec. 2 at the new school. It cost about $11 million to build. It was paid for with bond money that was approved in 2012.
