Festival of Trees returns to IF

The Festival of Trees had its annual ribbon cutting Monday.

Development Workshop puts on the festival every year at the Shilo Inn to help fund some of its programs for people with disabilities.

The Idaho Falls community was invited to come shop for Christmas trees and decorations. Clients from Development Workshop sang carols while shoppers picked out the perfect tree. Although Christmas is one of the busiest times for workers, the workshops public relation manager Pat Taysom said the festival is perfect for supporting disabilities in the workforce.

“This event kind of cements all we do all year. We have the clients singing, people get to mingle and see the value of people,” said Taysom.

This is the festival’s 39th year. The festival is open until Nov 22 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
