TRPTA will continue to run

The suspense is over. The Targhee Regional Transportation Authority will continue to run.

The City of Idaho Falls met Tuesday and decided to continue funding the bus line. The city agreed to pay TRPTA and has almost $100,000 set aside in their budget.

This comes after the transit fired its CEO, Lyn Seymour, last week. TRPTA’s chairman Lee Staker said although that was a heavy decision, there haven’t been any extreme changes.

“It really hasn’t changed the operation, it’s changed the management style. And I think that was more than anything. Lyn was a very good transportation person and we appreciate her very much for the things that she has accomplished,” said Staker.

TRPTA’s board said other cities have followed Idaho Falls’ lead and are also on board with continued funding of the transit.
