Car crashes into Old Town building

Around 11:30 Saturday night, Muse Boutique owner Kerri Harmon got a phone call from police saying someone had driven a car through the side of her building.

Harmon said it started with a pursuit through town, where Idaho State Police were trying to stop a vehicle who failed to pull over. ISP troopers decided the danger outweighed the risk, so they ceased pursuit and backed off before the car hit the building.

“They had called the chase off right before the driver attempted to turn the corner here, and they didn’t make it,” Harmon said.

ISP took the passenger Harvey Ray Moore Jr., Pocatello, into custody. He was then taken to the Portneuf Medical Center.

Police are still searching for the driver who fled on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call ISP at (208) 236-6466.

Those interested in helping Harmon with the cleanup can head over to the shop located at 501 N. Main Street.
