Man arrested on kidnapping charge

A Bonneville County man was arrested on aggravated battery and second-degree kidnapping charges after a Rigby woman said he had held her against her will.

Shawn Dale Heath, 46, was arrested after a woman called police saying Heath had hit her in the chest with the end of a rifle and wouldn’t allow her to leave early Saturday morning.

The victim said she was inside the trailer of a recreational vehicle on Saturday night when she got into an argument with Heath.

She said he pushed her onto the couch before hitting her with the rifle.

Heath was arrested after the victim said he finally let her go several hours later.

In September, Heath was involved in an incident in which a pipe bomb was found in his home. He told authorities he was using the device to clear out nearby beaver dams. At the time, he was already in jail on attempted strangulation and drug charges.
