Two school buses involved in crashes in Jefferson County

Idaho State Police advise driving conditions on eastern Idaho highways are extremely dangerous.

In addition to multiple slide-off accidents, troopers have also investigated two crashes involving school buses. In one case, the bus was stopped to pick up children. In both cases, the buses were struck from behind by other vehicles. Officers said no one was hurt in the accidents.

Both accidents happened in Jefferson County, one near Ririe and another near Rigby.

Officers said all roads north of Blackfoot are icy, snow covered and have low visibility in some areas.

And troopers are reminding motorists that school buses stop frequently and drivers should maintain a safe following distance.
