Large wrecks on I-15

Multiple accidents were blocking traffic on I-15 on Saturday near Idaho Falls.

One accident involved two vehicles and a semi-trailer, five miles south of Idaho Falls, near exit 113. One vehicle, a Cadillac Escalade, lost control, striking the guardrail and came to a stop in the middle of the lanes. Another vehicle, a PT Cruiser collided with the Escalade and then came to a stop against the guardrail.

A semi-trailer then struck both vehicles. All drivers were wearing seatbelts, and only the driver of the PT Cruiser was transported to Eastern Idaho Medical Center.

There was also several slide-offs on I-15 South near Inkom, including an injury accident near milepost 56 in the same area.

At 11:08 a.m. the driver of a Ford Ranger lost control while travelling north, rolling across the median and coming to a stop in the southbound lanes. A Toyota Corolla then struck the vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and both were transported to Portneuf Medical Center.

Near Caldwell, the driver of a Nissan Exterra was travelling west when they lost control of the vehicle, and crossed into the eastbound lanes. The SUV was the struck by a semi-truck, causing the passenger of the Exterra to be ejected and killed. This crash is still under investigation

Police urge drivers to use caution on slick roads, and to go a safe speed.
