Rexburg, Utah hospitals to collaborate
Next week, Madison Memorial Hospital and University of Utah Health Care are expected to announce plans to partner.
Under the agreement, both hospitals will continue to be run separately but would share resources and expertise.
“This would be a situation where we could have a physician and a patient be here and then through teleconference or things like that work with a physician there who’s a specialist and in a particular area, and then they can help us through that process to treat these individuals,” said Doug McBride, a spokesman for Madison Memorial.
Patients would currently have to travel to Salt Lake City for specialized treatments would potentially be able to get the same care at Madison Memorial.
