Idaho Falls barbershop gets free makeover
Christmas came early for one Idaho Falls barber when several of his customers showed up Saturday to help redecorate his historic barbershop.
Stuart Draper’s been going to Robert’s Delux Cuts on A Street for about a year.
“Had some good opportunities to get to know Robert. Just chatting while he cut my hair,” said Draper.
But Draper couldn’t help but notice the shop looked a little run down.
“The idea came to me, ‘What if we just helped him clean up his shop?'” said Draper.
So Draper enlisted about 20 of his friends and neighbors–even their sons.
“My dad walked down to my room, he’s like, ‘All right, get dressed. We’re gonna go help this guy out,'” said Jeron Andersen.
They installed new sinks, painted walls and restained cabinets free of charge.
Robert’s owner, Robert Fisher, said he was caught completely off guard.
“It wasn’t really believable till it started,” Fisher said. “It just seems like this would’ve been out of my grasp, and so I really appreciate it and so does my family.”
But if Fisher thinks the good deed is done, maybe he should think again.
“We got a few other surprises for Robert he doesn’t know about yet,” Draper confided.
Draper and his friends say they’ll return to Robert’s Monday to add some finishing touches.
