Jefferson Co. celebrates Centennial

Jefferson County celebrated 100 years of service in eastern Idaho Monday.

Commission Chairman Jerald Raymond said it’s time to build on the community’s heritage and continue toward another 100 years.

“This celebration recognizes the beginning of a county. It recognizes our forefathers and the sacrifices that they made to help bring us to where we are today,” he said.

Raymond also said the only way to celebrate the past is by building the future.

“We want to continue to build on the heritage that we have, to leave a strong county for our children and grandchildren,” said Raymond.

The celebration doesn’t stop there; Monday was just a kick-off. There will be more events throughout the year.
