Man arrested after nearly 2,000 pills found in SUV

A traffic stop on Interstate 15 in Idaho Falls led to the arrest of a man who had drugs worth $55,000, Idaho State Police said.

Deangelo L. Hankston, 31, of North Las Vegas, Nev., was pulled over for a traffic violation Tuesday. Police said he had a suspended driver’s license and he had recently been smoking marijuana. A search of the 2007 Lincoln Navigator revealed 1,784 oxycodone pills, and 195 hydrocodone pills, which had a street value of about $55,000.

Hanston was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on a charge of driving without privileges, one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana, and two felony counts of intent to deliver hydrocodone and oxycodone pills.

State police were helped by Bonneville deputies and their K-9 drug dog.
