IF Parks & Rec to extend greenbelt

The Idaho Falls Greenbelt may look a little different come October. The Idaho Falls Redevelopment Agency approved an extension to last year’s river garden project, moving toward phase II. The project will include more landscaping and riverbank stabilization.

City Parks and Recreation Director Greg A. Weitzel said the greenbelt has long been a great addition to the community and will continue to be with the project beautification effort.

“It extends an already very popular area that we created last year. It allows people to get access to the river and for children and others to have a safe area to play that’s really beautiful,” he said.
