Idaho Falls standoff suspect in custody

A man is in custody after a standoff at a home on Beacon Road in Idaho Falls on Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. Jeff Edwards of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said deputies tried to pull over Andrew White, 30, of Idaho Falls, for a routine traffic stop on Dunbar Drive, but White, who had multiple warrants out for his arrest, ran to a friend’s house on Beacon and went inside.

Authorities were concerned that White had weapons.

Law enforcement eventually found White in a shed behind the house. He was placed into custody.

Edwards said White had outstanding warrants for forgery, probation violation and failure to appear in court, all felonies. The bonds on the warrants totaled about $100,000.

The woman who owns the home has not been arrested, and her name has not been released.
