4th Annual Brewfest in Pocatello celebrates crafted beers

The 4th Annual Gate City Brewfest officially wrapped up around 6 p.m. Saturday, but the party went on well into the night.

Thousands of folks in Pocatello turned out to local bars and restaurants to partake. There were over 30 different brewers at 15 locations, with buses on hand to shuttle people to all of those locations.

The event was started by the Pocatello Chamber of Commerce. Penny Pink, owner and managing brewer at Portneuf Valley Brewing, said it’s helped bring to light several crafted brews that normally wouldn’t have been popular, meaning good things for local brewers.

“I’m continually amazed at the array of beers we’re able to come up with,” Pink said. “The industry continues to change and grow over the years, and it’s been great to see that evolution.”

More than 70 different types of beers were available for sampling.
