Students stage crash to highlight dangers of texting and driving

Friday students at Hillcrest High School staged a crash in the school’s parking lot to illustrate the dangers of texting and driving.

Student actors wore make-up complete with fake flood. Agencies including the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and Ammon Fire Department participated.

“It was really graphic detail. All the blood, and all the — the acting was really good, the makeup artists,” said student Sara Ocoseen. “I’ll be honest, I’ve text and drived before, and I think it’s just kind of a good reminder to not text and drive.”

The crash was organized by members of the school’s student council.
