Zoo offers classes for kids during Spring Break

Spring Break is this week or next for most schools in our area.

Tautphaus Park Zoo in Idaho Falls is offering special classes and mini-camps to keep kids busy. Classes range from animals that hop to mammals and apes.Students will learn about the animals, make crafts, and hear stories. They’ll also get a sneak peek before the park opens, and will even get up-close and personal with some of the animals.

“They get to areas that sometimes the public might not go, like inside our zebra barn and see where they live, so the kids get to see a little bit behind the scenes at the zoo,” said Alicia Ferguson, education assistant at Tautphaus Park Zoo.

The deadline to register is three days before the class begins, so there is still time to enroll kids between the ages of 5-13. To view more and register: http://www.idahofallsidaho.gov/city/city-departments/parks-recreation/parks-recreation-zoo/education-programs.html

The zoo opens to the public April 12.
