Ririe Maverik robbed

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed robbery at the Maverik convenience store in Ririe.

The robbery happened around 9:20 p.m. Sunday.

Sheriff’s office spokesperson Mickey Eames said Tuesday the robber wore a black hoodie and scarf, black pants and shoes and was carrying a handgun that was silver- or nickel-plated. Based on the sound of the bandit’s voice, the store clerk thought the suspect was likely female.

The robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash in a newer model, black, four-door car.
