Man arrested after hatchet incident

A man was arrested after police said he threatened people at a gas station in Pocatello with a hatchet.

According to police, Logan Scott Barnett, 21, went to the Chevron on 506 South Fifth and threatened others in the area on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said he also was hacking at the building with the hatchet.

Another man grabbed a baseball bat to defend himself when Barnett threatened him. Barnett dropped the hatchet.

“Barnett was then punched in the face, at which time he fled the area,” police said.

Police said Barnett ran and was later found on Filmore Street.

He was arrested on charges of malicious injury to property and aggravated assault.
