Morning/Noon Weather Anchor

NPG of Idaho is accepting applications for a high-energy weather anchor for its morning and noon newscasts.

The candidate would be responsible for creating the area’s most respected weathercast in the region and maintain the station’s First Alert 8 weather brand. Your responsibilities will be to provide the forecast for nearly two dozen cities, but also for some the nation’s most popular vacation destinations, including Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park, along with Idaho’s central mountains.

Local News 8 uses some of the most advanced weather technology in the market with Baron weather computers and its popular Omni system. Other valuable tools include a neighborhood weather network, sky camera’s in four different locations and work closely with the National Weather Service, as we are an official NWS reporting station for the city of Idaho Falls.

Candidates must have an excitement for weather, be able to analyze weather data, develop graphics and present the weather as a story. Prior experience with weather graphics systems, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, social media, email and ENPS is a plus.

To apply, email a resume and an on-air audition reel to curtis.jackson@npgco.com.
