Snake River School Board renews Asmus’ contract
The Snake River School District board decided Monday that a longtime biology teacher’s contract will be renewed, provided she will be placed on probation for one school year.
Many faculty members, patrons, and current and former students have attended the proceedings to support Elaine Asmus, who was accused of harassment or bullying in a dispute with a fellow teacher who also happens to be the superintendent’s wife. However, the board decided she was only in violation of the Idaho Code of Professional Ethics for Professional Educators.
Many wonder how much this whole ordeal cost the district. They have not yet released a dollar amount, as they are still waiting for legal bills.
