Suspect named in deadly shooting in Preston

The Preston Police Department is releasing more information surrounding last weekend’s murder investigation.

James Kelly Pilgrim, 41, has been booked into the Franklin County Jail on suspicion of homicide and aggravated assault.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call for assistance in Preston around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Preston police officers and Franklin County deputies responded to gunshots fired at the home of Chad Andrus at 801 W. 800 North.

Andrus died at the house from apparent gunshot wounds.

Pilgrim was transported in police custody to the Franklin County Medical Center. The incident is being investigated as a murder.

According to a press relrease from thePrestonPolice Department,there are no suspects at large and there is no danger to the public from this incident.
