Power restored after pole fire

About 2,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers were without electricity in the Ammon, Idaho Falls and Iona areas after a fire Friday morning.

The fire on a power line pole occurredjust before 7:30 a.m. Friday on 49th South east of Ammon Road. Initially, power lines were dangling just above the road.Firefighters put out the fire.

Power was restored around noon.

Classes were cancelled at Woodland Hills school.

Power outages are also affected three other schools, but Rocky Mountain Power said it was re-routing power to those schools this morning.Students were kept at Hillcrest High School, Sand Creek and Ammon.
