One killed in motorcycle crash

A man was killed Thursday night in a motorcycle crash in Idaho Falls.

Preston Dixson, 39, was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson FXD motorcycle east on 17th with Hayley Flowers, 32, as a passenger. Idaho Falls police said Dixson lost control of the motorcycle and struck a pole at the southwest corner of 17th and Rollandet. Dixson and Flowers, both of Idaho Falls, were thrown from the motorcycle.

Dixson was pronounced dead at the crash. Flowers was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Police said neither of them were wearing helmets and that speed was a factor in the crash.
