Judge race isn’t over yet

Two contenders in Tuesday night’s election for Judge Jon J. Shindurling’s District 7 seat will have to face off once again in November.

Candidates need 51 percent of the votes to take the seat. Bruce Pickett almost won the race with 49 percent of the vote. The runner-up, Stevan Thompson, gathered 29 percent of the vote.

Now the Pickett and Thompson will meet again on the ballot Nov. 4.

Scott Davis was the third candidate for the seat. He managed to take 22 percent of the votes.

Shindurling has been a part of the Bonneville County Judicial system since 1994. His term ends at the end of the year.
