Lost Rivers Medical opens new ISU tele-pharmacy

Idaho State University showcased its new tele-pharmacy with the help of the Lost Rivers Medical Center Friday.

The pharmacy serves as one of the first of its kind in the state. Pharmacists will monitor the filling of prescriptions and conduct one on one consultations with clients via video conference. ISU College of Pharmacy Dean Paul Kady said many rural pharmacies are closing shop across the state, leaving residents without reliable care.

“We want to make certain that our students are prepared. Idaho is a rural state and we are it is our responsibility to train our students to provide that quality care in these areas,” he said.

Lost Rivers Medical center said this the next step to becoming a one-stop shop for rural medical care, they are happy to welcome Bengal Pharmacy to their health care mission.
