Man arrested after dog hit by car

An Idaho Falls man was arrested on a warrant for aggravated battery on Wednesday after his dog was killed in a collision with a car.

Idaho Falls police said on Tuesday around 8 p.m., a 24-year-old man was driving east on 18th when a dog ran out in front of his car. The driver, who was unable to avoid the animal, hit the dog and killed it.

The dog belonged to Victor M. Madrigal, 42, who allegedly struck the 24-year-old man in the head afterward.
