Development Workshop prepares for Duck Race

The Idaho Falls Duck Race kicks off Saturday, but there is still a lot to do before the big day.

Development Workshop clients are working to prepare more than 18,000 rubber ducks for the race. The workshop specializes in finding employment for people with special needs or disabilities.

Workshop CEO Mike O’Bleness said his clients take pride in contributing to such a huge event.

“It’s come to be an activity that all of our clients look forward to working on each year,” said O’Bleness. “They talk about the duck race and how they contribute. Then, on Saturday they can go and watch the duck race and see how their actions and their job help support our entire community.”

People in the Idaho Falls community get a chance to purchase ducks for the chance to win the race. The grand prize is a new 2014 Ford F-150 pickup.
