Summer lunch program in Blackfoot

Over the next couple weeks, Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church will be serving up lunch to kids because a school lunch program is taking a break.

This is a federally funded program aimed at giving kids a nutritious but delicious meal, because when providing food through a federally funded program, the meal needs to consist of certain food groups– which can be hard to do because kids can be really picky about their food.

“We give a good, nutritious lunch to these kids that sometimes do not have a meal during the day, except for this one. Or if their parents are working, they can come over here and get a meal,” says Linda Perry, a volunteer.
