ITD relieved Congress OK’s funding

The Idaho Transportation Department said it is relieved congress funded highway construction through May.

Governmental Affairs Program Manager, Mollie McCarty, said Idaho did not have to delay any projects due to funding. Therefore, planning is still on track.

“We continue to see these band aid measures that continue to keep programs funded, but congress is really struggling more and more to be able to find long-term solutions and fund transportation and that is something that is concerning to our state and all the other states as well,” said McCarty.

The $10.8 billion was approved by the U.S. House. It still needs a signature from President Obama.
