Stranded boaters rescued in Fremont County

The Fremont County Search and Rescue team said two boaters who had been stranded for over three hours were rescued early Saturday morning.

Crews said the boat stopped working 300 yards off the cliff on Henry’s Lake a little after 10:30 p.m. Friday. Choppy waters and poor cell service made it difficult for crews to reach the boaters. When they finally reached the boat, crews were able to tow it to the State Boat Dock around 1:20 a.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the rescue.

Crews also had to help a Grand Teton Relay runner over the weekend. The team said one of the runners had taken an incorrect turn and had to be rescued. Search crews were able to find the runner by tracking down his GPS location on his cellphone.
