Student in custody after pellet gun found in backpack
A 17-year-old boy was booked into the 3B Detention Center on Thursday on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon on school property.
Bonneville County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Lincoln High School around noon. Principal Gordon Howard said a parent reported a child said another kid in a class had a gun.
Deputies went to the classroom and took the student into custody. They found a black pellet gun in a backpack hanging on that student’s desk chair.
A second 17-year-old boy was also booked into 3B Detention on suspicion of resisting and obstructing and battery on an officer.
