Body of missing man found in Grand Teton National Park

Search teams have found the body of a Russian man who has been missing this week n Grand Teton National Park.

The park announced the body of Aleksandr “Sasha” Sagiev, 20, was found by searchers from the park and Teton County, Wyoming, Search and Rescue below a steep traverse, known locally as Cache Couloir, in Glacier Gulch, on Friday afternoon.

Sagiev was a seasonal employee of Dornan’s Pizza & Pasta Restaurant in Moose, Wyoming. He had not been seen by co-workers since Sunday afternoon.

At first, officials focused their search on the Moose area. However, on Thursday afternoon, they got information indicating Sagiev may have started a hike from Taggart Lake Trailhead on Monday morning.

Sagiev’s body was found around 1:30 p.m Friday. The circumstances of his death are still under investigation, the park said.
