Feds plan underground explosion near Old Teton Dam
Local News 8 has learned the Defense Threat Regulatory Agency plans to set off an explosion underground just north of the Old Teton Dam site next week as part of a seismic experiment.
According to a document Local News 8 obtained, this experiment is part of a larger government project to get information on how shock waves travel through different kinds of rocks.
The explosion will take place 80 to 165 feet below ground Thursday morning.
