Shelley man hurt in multiple vehicle crash that damages home
The Idaho State Police are investigating a nine-vehicle crash in Jefferson County that damaged a home and three parked trailers Friday evening.
ISP said the collision happened around 6:45 p.m. at 100 N and Lewisville Highway. Mark Tanner, 33, of Shelley, was driving westbound on 100 N. Kristopher Barnett, 42, of Menan, was driving northbound on Lewisville Highway. State Police aid Tanner failed to stop at a stop sign, and struck Barnett’s vehicle on the passenger side. Tanner’s vehicle continued, striking a Dodge Dakota parked at a home. His vehicle came to a rest after striking the home where the Dodge was parked. Meanwhile, Barnett’s vehicle also continued, eventually striking a car, a motor home and three trailers parked at another residence. One of the trailers was pushed into a 1989 Honda Accord.
ISP said Tanner was not wearing his seat belt and was taken to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ambulance. Barnett was wearing his seat belt and was not taken to the hospital. None of the other vehicles were occupied, and the residents of the home were not injured. The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
