Reporter / Weekend Weather
KIFI Local News 8 and KIDK 3 Eyewitness News (NPG of Idaho/VistaWest Media) is looking for a weekday reporter/weekend weather anchor.
We are looking for a reporter who has a high interest in weather.
You would join a team of meteorologists who will teach you how to forecast weather conditions for eastern Idaho and western Wyoming.
You will also be reporting news stories 3 days a week. This includes shooting, writing, editing and presenting stories both on-air and online. You will work with some of the highest digital technology in the market, including Sony XDCAM HD cameras, Velocity editors, ENPS and three live trucks.
NPG of Idaho also uses some of the most advanced weather technology in the market with Baron Weather System’s Omni and its popular VIPIR Radar. Other valuable tools include a neighborhood weather network, sky camera’s in four different locations and work closely with the National Weather Service, as we are an official NWS reporting station for the city of Idaho Falls.
Candidates must have a degree in journalism, media, or related field. Prior experience with weather graphics systems, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, world-wide-web, email and ENPS is a plus, but not required.
