Community celebrates pavilion dedication
Pocatello finally has a new pavilion in Caldwell Park, and on Wednesday the community came out to celebrate what some are calling a “monumental” contribution.
At noon, the Pocatello Chiefs, along with NeighborWorks Pocatello, cut the ribbon in front of the new pavilion, which took two years to plan and build.
The $130,000 structure was funding in large part by donations from local patrons and businesses.
NeighborWorks Pocatello executive director Mark Dahlquist said Caldwell Park is the perfect place to build the pavilion since it is situated most centrally, not only in the community, but also within the neighborhoods the organization most commonly serves.
He said this will also serve as a great place for community events to take place.
“We are really excited to be here today, and this is the culmination of about two years worth of planning and work,” Dahlquist said. “Finally, our dedication is here.”
