Woman arrested in identity theft probe

An Idaho Falls woman stole someone’s identity to apply for a credit card and used the card to pay for dental work, said police.

Katherine M. Jordan, 49, was arrested Thursday on a warrant on charges of felony theft by deception and fraudulent possession of a financial transaction card.

Idaho Falls police said officers have been investigating her since May when they took a report of identity theft. According to court records, the incident happened in April.

After Jordan fraudulently obtained the credit card, she used it to pay for about $2,775 in dental services, police said.

She was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
