2 arrested on drug charges when police check on child

A welfare check on a young child resulted in two people being arrested on drug charges.

Officers responded to a house on the 200 block of East First Street for a welfare check on a 14-month-old child on Saturday. They said during the check, they found marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at the home.

Police arrested Christopher J. Taylor, 31, and Brianna D. Chapple, 22, both of Idaho Falls, on suspicion of felony delivery of a controlled substance with a child present and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In addition, Taylor was arrested on charges of felony possession of marijuana and frequenting a known drug place. Chapple also was arrested on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and violation of a no-contact order.

They were booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

The child was placed in the custody of Idaho Health and Welfare.
