Earth shakes in Montpelier area

A trio of small earthquakes occurred near Montpelier on Friday morning.

The first and largest was reported at around 11:22 a.m. and measured 3.4 magnitude. Another at 11:39 measured 3.1 and a third at 11:41 measured 2.9 magnitude.

According to the University of Utah, smaller quakes — around 1 magnitude — have happened in eastern Idaho in the past 24 hours.

The Bear Lake County Sheriff’s office said there have been no reports of any significant damage.
