Fire destroys Menan repair shop

A repair shop was destroyed in a fire in Menan on Monday.

The fire at 3609 E. 700 North began after the landowner was welding in the shop, the Jefferson County Central Fire Department said. Firefighters said a spark flew, igniting a fire around 12:30 p.m. The shop was engulfed in flames.

The landowner suffered about $100,000 in damages.

Roberts firefighters also helped put out the fire.
