Detached trailer leads to I-15 crash
A detached trailer led to a crash on Interstate 15 north of Blackfoot on Tuesday afternoon.
Idaho State Police said Warren Jones, 53 of Pennsylvania, was going north on interstate in a white Kenworth semi tractor-trailer. Joseph Pilgrim, 19, of Ashton, was also going north on I-15 in a silver Ford pickup pulling a trailer.
Pilgrim’s trailer came unhooked and struck the semi and came to rest in the middle of the northbound lanes.
The road was shut down for about an hour so crews could remove the vehicles and the debris.
Neither driver was hurt, and both were wearing seatbelts, ISP said. Pilgrim was cited for unsafe equipment.
