Blackfoot council considers allowing Sunday alcohol sales in bars
The Blackfoot City Council is considering whether it should allow beer and wine sales in bars on Sundays.
Currently, they are not sold in bars on Sundays, but you can get them at a restaurant.
It’s also legal to buy either at the grocery store Sundays.
This came up when a local bar asked for a special-use permit to be open for a NASCAR race that happened to be Sunday.
During the discussion, some City Council members said it didn’t make sense you can get beer and wine other places, but not at a bar.
Officials say most people they know are in support of it.
The council will meet Tuesday night.
