Idaho Gives begins Thursday

The Idaho Gives event kicks off a 24-hour statewide period of donating as soon as Thursday begins.

“The whole purpose is to get the public to show support for their favorite nonprofit by going online by making just modest donations,” said Carrie Scheid with Idaho Gives.

The event is a chance for Idahoans to show support for their favorite nonprofit charities by making financial donations.

Idaho Gives started in 2013 and raised more than $570,000.

In 2014, the event raised more than $780,000.

Event organizers said they hope to surpass that number this year and said almost everyone can find a charitable cause they like.

“There are over 90 charities participating, and they range from animals and art groups and the Boy Scouts, to the soup kitchen and the zoo,” said Scheid.

All donations can be made at idahogives.org.
