Pocatello church prays near City Hall

Every year, the first Thursday of May is National Prayer Day. A local church made sure to make a welcoming space for it.

Reverend Jim Jones of Pocatello’s Blazing Grace Church celebrated the day in front of City Hall. The church was out there from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is the church’s 4th year doing this. Bibles and other religious texts were on-hand for people to use at the celebration. Jones said everybody is welcome every year.

“Everyone is welcome to come pray. Christian, Mormon, Muslim, Lutheran, whatever– it’s open to everyone because prayer is prayer,” said Jones.

Jones said everyone is welcome to attend Blazing Grace Church in Pocatello, calling it a “come as you are” church.
